Inspiration:

People ask me where I get my inspirations for patterns. Truly they can come from everywhere, and I am always on the lookout. Nature, of course, is full of mandalic patterns – flowers, cacti, and shells being prime examples. Nature loves symmetry, and so man creates symmetrically as well. Manhole covers, fountains, basketry, bulls eyes – mandalas everywhere!

Lots of my mandalas have been inspired by the patterns in Persian rugs, classical mosaics, wrought iron, and illuminated manuscripts. Some paintings have come to me in that moment just before waking, "downloaded" from my higher self or some partner in art in another realm. I am especially grateful and delighted by those.
